WATCH: Romney Jumps Gun On Embassy Violence

Rachel Maddow pointed out on her show that Mitt Romney’s campaign jumped the gun when attacking the Obama administration over its response to the protests in the Middle East. Romney’s campaign still issued a statement, turning the protests into a domestic political issue, amidst reports of a killed American. Clearly Maddow believes Romney was in the wrong. Was his criticism justified or too hasty?

Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg, a Montana congressman allegedly gave a cameraman sent from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee the finger this morning in Washington. He’s running a close race against Jon Tester for a seat to represent Montana in the Senate but it looks like this candidate has an attitude problem.

Beef Products Inc., the company behind the meat product referred to as “pink slime,” filed a lawsuit today against ABC News citing that its April 2012 news report was “false and misleading and defamatory.” The report, sparked outcry by the public who called for a ban of “pink slime” in school lunches and restaurants.

WATCH: NBC Ignores 9/11 Moment of Silence

The Obamas led the U.S. in an official moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. est today, the same time at which the first plane hit the World Trade Center. All major networks covered the moment except one: NBC. Instead of cutting to the Obamas during its ‘Today’ show, NBC continued airing an interview with Kris Jenner, the reality TV star. See the side-by-side coverage below courtesy of ‘New York’ Magazine. This doesn’t look good for NBC.

Jon Stewart calls out Fox News on its hypocritical coverage of the conventions. In the clip below, Stewart shows Fox News anchor Brit Hume analyzing Paul Ryan’s speech. Not bad Brit, but then note the contrast of his converge when it comes to Bill Clinton’s speech…very interesting.

The Media’s Standards of a Convention Speech

In case you missed it, Paul Ryan had quite the speech Wednesday night in Tampa. From pathos-evoking tales of his youth, to his early days as an aspiring politician, Ryan seemed to paint quite a vivid picture of himself.
There also seemed to be quite a number of false facts and errors in his speech, quickly plucked by the media.
Some of Ryan’s zingers, like the one about Obama promising to keep a GM plant in his hometown of Janesville open, earned a big fat red false on PolitiFact. And with good reason, it was nothing short of a lie.
